Our transflective monitors are more than just cheap film enhancements. We only use the highest quality parts in the transformation process. Because the sun is so bright (over 10,000 Nits) no single technology is enough to create a truly sunlight readable monitor, so we combine multiple technologies that work together in harmony to create our transflective units. The aftermarket touch panel utilizes state of the art anti glare (AG) and anti reflective (AR) coatings on the top side. The bottom side of the panel features circular polarizer’s that shift the incoming sunlight 180 degrees out of phase which effectively cancels the light out, preventing it from penetrating the LCD panel.
We then use the ultimate combination of passive enhancements within the LCD panel to increase the brightness. This insures the light that does penetrate the LCD panel is absorbed efficiently and reflected back out at the proper angles.
However there is still one problem with touch screens, the air gap that is created when you place a touch panel over the LCD panel. This gap not only traps heat (the enemy of all electronics) created by the LCD panel, but also traps light from the LCD panel and creates reflections. Our Optically Bonded Transflective monitors eliminate this gap by filling it with a special optical grade silicone. The result is the elimination of a minimum of 99.8% of the sun glare and the heat generated by the LCD panel can be effectively dissipated through the front of the screen.

PLEASE NOTE: There is no longer any difference in hardware between the EBY701 and the standard GL629. The internal components are identical. Only the outer plastic housing is different. Unless you like the way the GL629 looks better than the EBY701 there is no reason the purchase it over the EBY701.
